The Art of the Pregnant Hug
Figuring out how to get a decent hug while hugely pregnant has been a bit of a puzzle. Side hugs are the new cool thing. With a big 'ol baby in the front makes for practically zero contact or weird acrobatics. At least my belly doesn't hinder any kisses! :)

More Feet....
With all these comics on feet, you'd think I have a weird fetish or something. Really though, its just on my mind a lot because my feet swollen like this, hinder many of my favorite activities... like standing and walking.... and sitting. Seriously! Sewing and creating is no fun when your feet are balloons!

Pregnancy Adventures
I feel like I've been pretty dang lucky during this pregnancy. I only felt nauseous the first few months and my back pain is pretty much gone since going to chiropractor on a regular basis. I like the shape of being pregnant. I makes me feel really womanly and feminine. Luckily, drinking water and walking helps my feet go back down to a relatively normal size.

Aquarium Visit
It was so nice to get out of the house, even though the aquarium was PRIIIIIICEY! $20 a pop! But! I learned a bunch and I wrote down some great fish names to look up to draw. I took some video of the fish too. Some of them are so big and bulky looking but they glide through the water so elegantly! Made me think of the baby floating around in me. I think I should go to the zoo next!

Another day in January
Another journal comic. Simple, but I'm pleased with it. I hope I get better at storytelling as I do this. I'd like to do it everyday. I think I could, if I can keep it this concise most of the time. With a new baby on the way, I won't exactly have oodles of time to draw like I used to.

The White Stag
At least... that's the working title. This has been an interesting journey. I'm working on a comic that is 50 pages long....actually its currently at a standstill because I freaked out. I've got it all thumb-nailed out but egads! character design??? Me??? So I started my "How to make a Perfect Pie" Comic only 25 pages long, still struggling with consistant characters... Then came this: "The White Stag" Only 12 Panels. Now that I've gotten this far, I'm feeling more confident about the other, bigger projects.
Thumbnails, character design, layout, and even some facial expressions!(though... they are covered up....)
Close up of one of the panels. This is done on a 3 1/2 by 3 1/2 inch paper. This allowed me to work out some of the kinks, and see how to do it better before I went big.
These are things I know I already need to fix, which is why I did it small in the first place. Having to redo this much work and detail at a 7in size would have been a pain. Even so, this took me a couple of days of concentrated work.
Ps. Thank you Ray for the idea, and thank you Hollie for be excited for me and cheering me on!

....save me.....
For the past two weeks, My husband and I have been dealing with bed bugs. It's a nightmare. In the beginning, I was googling like crazy hoping it was mosquitos gone wild, because mosquitos or fleas were something I could deal with. Nope it was bed bugs. I was horrified, then mortified, then infuriated. I'm still angry, but more resigned. I'm so freaking tired. As of this morning, I have 20 new bites, on my face, hands, arms and shoulders. Luckily, Aloe Vera Gel helps a ton with my welts. It takes away the burning, itching and pain.
Apparently bed bugs, while socially associated with uncleanliness, have NOTHING to do with being clean or dirty. Bed bugs don't care, because all they do is eat blood. We've already paid for a useless spraying of chemicals. The next step is a $1,500 heat treatment. So, if ya know... I don't post for a while... this is why.
